Practice Direction 2 of 2020 - Listing Certificates for Trial

To assist with the management of criminal trial matters being heard in the Children's Court of Western Australia, Counsel are now requested to file a Listing Certificate and a Form CC3 - Notice of Acting.

A Listing Certificate will be required for each criminal trial where the matter is to be listed before the President, or for each criminal trial to be listed before a Magistrate - where the duration of trial is expected to proceed for more than one day, or the trial is determined to be a complex matter by the presiding judicial officer.

Listing Certificates and Notice of Acting forms, duly signed, are required to be filed by close of registry each Monday prior to Callover. These forms can be lodged either by email, or in paper at the registry counter between 8:30am and 4:30pm each working day.

A Magistrate will conduct the Trial Callover List fortnightly, each Tuesday at 9:30am. The Tuesday trial list will commence at not before 10am on that day.
